Among them is crowd favourite Sara Sigmundsdottir. The Icelander is one of the most recognisable faces in CrossFit and each year, fans wonder if this is “her year”. But she cannot quite seem to catch a break with injury.

After finishing seventh in Dubai last month, Sigmundsdottir will be eyeing a podium place to kick on into the 2022. She will have stiff competition from the likes of Emily Rolfe, who finished one spot behind her in the United Arab Emirates.
In the men’s competition, Saxon Panchik, a four-times Games athlete who’s fifth place last year was her best showing, is among the favourites. He will be fighting it out for top spot with the likes of Cole Sager, a veteran of eight Games.
In the team competition, Mayhem In Paradise, features Rich Froning, Luke Parker and Angelo Dicicco. Any team with Froning, who has won four CrossFit Games as an individual and five CrossFit Games titles as a team with Mayhem, is always likely to be among the best.
Mayfem, their counterparts in the women’s competition team, will also be hot favourites. Andrea Nisler, Taylor Williamson and Haley Adams are a tough trio. Adams, 21, burst onto the scene as a teenager in 2019, with a sixth-place finish at the Games. She backed it up with fourth and fifth in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
